Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Panelbeater to join our team on a full-time basis. The role involves assessing vehicle damage and carrying out structural and cosmetic repairs to restore vehicles to their original condition. Spray painting experience is highly desirable to support workshop operations and ensure smooth workflow between panel and paint departments.

Core Duties (Panel Beating – Mandatory)

Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods

Dismantle and reassemble vehicle components as required

Repair or replace damaged panels using appropriate tools and techniques

Perform structural repairs, including welding and chassis alignment using hydraulic equipment

Carry out panel finishing, including dent removal, filling, and sanding

Refit panels, trims, and vehicle hardware to manufacturer standards

Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in line with WHS requirements

Additional Duties (Spray Painting-Beneficial)

Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and cleaning

Assist with primer and paint application using spray equipment

Support colour matching and paint mixing processes

Inspect painted surfaces and perform minor touch-ups if required

Maintain spray equipment and ensure proper handling of materials

Liaise with team members to ensure efficient workflow between repair and paint stages

Supervise or assist apprentices as required

Qualification & Experience Required

Mandatory

Relevant qualification in Automotive Body Repair Technology (Panel Beating) or equivalent
Proven experience as a Panel Beater in a collision repair environment
Strong experience in welding, panel repair, and structural alignment
Ability to interpret damage and complete repairs to industry standards
Valid driver’s licence

Desired

Experience or exposure to automotive spray painting and surface preparation
Knowledge of paint systems, colour matching, and finishing techniques
Experience working in a high-volume automotive workshop

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Good problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines
Team-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and support junior staff

Physically fit and capable of working in a workshop environment
